While slowly walking through Porta San Pietro, you can see Assisi’s medieval streets leading up to the main historical center. Heading up Via Fontebella you can catch a glimpse of the characteristic stairways and narrow streets which lie between the stone houses and the austere and medieval building. The Ferri-Benigni Illuminati family palace date back to the 1600’s and is the actual site of the Hotel Fontebella.

A convenient parking nearby, available for a fee, allows you have every historical, cultural and religious landmark at walking distance.
